Q&A about custom computer key art
Q: What’s the smallest you can do?
A: The smallest computer key art I make is 400 keys, however due to the high volume of requests, my custom pieces are starting at 1,000 keys, which is about $1,100 USD.
Q: How big can you do?
A: This will depend on the design. The more detailed it is, the bigger it will need to be. The actual sizes, and frame types for stability, will be discussed on a case by case basis.
Q: What does a piece cost?
A: Every piece will vary, but a good estimate is about $1.15 USD per key, or $2.25 USD per square inch.
Example- (15X20 in = $675) (30X40 in = $2700)
Q: how long does it take to make one?
A: Due to the process and all other pieces being build for shows and such, you can expect it to take 2-3 months to be completed.
Q: what if i don’t have a picture of what I want?
A: Do your best to describe what you want or find examples of similar things and let me know what you like and don’t like on them to give me a decent idea of what you want.
Q: how do i pay for a custom piece?
A: Once we have finalized what design and everything, you will be sent an invoice through PayPal, which will allow you to pay with credit card or PayPal account. A deposit, determined by the artist, must be paid in full before it will be started.
Q: what frame options do i have?
A: For sizes that are less than 3 feet, you have the option of a white or black wood frame. If it’s larger, for stability purposes, a black frame (thick wood or metal) will be used.
Q: what colors can be utilized?
A: The keys come out in various shades of all sorts of colors. The most common colors are red, blue, purple, green and yellow, on top of the natural black, beige, grey, and white.
Q: does submitting a request guarantee it will be made?
A: No. Not every design works with pixelation, especially when on a budget. The artist will do his best to make mock-ups of what you’ve requested and if both parties agree, an invoice will be sent to you to pay, at least a deposit to get started. The full amount must be paid before the piece will be finalized and shipped.
Q: How does shipping work?
A: The artist will determine the weight of the piece when completed. You will then be responsible for the shipping costs. Note, any packaging that is larger than about 4 feet (4000 keys) must be shipped on a crate, in which an extra crate fee will also be applied.
Q: can you ship internationally?
A: Contact me and we’ll work it out! Pieces/items ready to be purchased on the website are set up to be able to ship internationally, at additional charges. You would be responsible for the additional duty/import fees.
